Thank you for your interest in Winchester Hospice

As a local charity that relies on the support of our community, we’re delighted that you want to know more about us and how you may be able to support our work.

We’re thrilled to have the support of Boomtown this year!

This exciting collaboration brings together the festival’s unstoppable energy and creativity with the hospice’s vital care and compassion - two forces rooted deeply in community spirit. The festival shares many of our values and is built on storytelling, unity, and positive impact. We’re delighted Boomtown has chosen to support us, helping to make a meaningful difference to local families.

How your support helps local people…

When you’re faced with a terminal or life limiting illness, your world is often turned upside down. You’ll have many questions about what happens next and, more often than not, one of those is about how you’ll fund the care you may need.

Our patients will never be asked to pay for any of the care they receive from Winchester Hospice. The cost of this care is all covered thanks to the NHS and the local community.

We’re proud to be part of Hampshire Hospitals but a large proportion of our funding also comes from charitable giving, from people just like you - and that proportion is increasing as the need for our care continues to grow.

Get involved…

If you’d like to support us, you can get involved in a number of ways to help raise vital funds to ensure we continue to be able to offer the best possible care to local people. To find out more, click the options below to get involved.

Where your money goes…

When you support Winchester Hospice, you support our team to provide specialist palliative and end of life care to adults with a life limiting illness in the Winchester area.

Our dedicated team supports local people to live a life as full as possible in an environment that enhances well-being, privacy and care.

To fully support our patients, we offer this care in a variety of ways:

  • An inpatient unit

  • Community service

  • Psychology service

  • Complementary therapies

To ensure we offer our patients the best possible care for them, we work closely with a range of other healthcare providers including Hampshire Hospitals specialist palliative care service, community and hospital teams, as well as community care teams and GPs.
