Bereavement support
At Winchester Hospice, we are here to support you through coping with the death of a loved one. There are a number of services we either provide or can signpost you to so that you and your family feel supported.
Bereavement evenings
After the death of a loved one, you will be invited to one of our bereavement evenings. This is a session where we come together with others to talk about grief, share coping mechanisms and provide a time for reflection. It also offers the chance for you to meet a few other people who are going through a bereavement and share how you are feeling, should you wish to.
These evenings are kindly supported by Winchester Bereavement Support, whose trained volunteers are there alongside our deputy sister Rachel to help and support you. Winchester Bereavement Support is a local voluntary organisation, established back in 1982, who offer compassionate support to bereaved people in and around Winchester.

Allium café
Our allium café is a drop-in space for bereaved families and loved ones attend. It is held in our beautiful garden room and provides a space to talk with others about grief, or to talk about something else entirely. The space is your own.
These cafes are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 16:00-18:00. They are facilitated by our friendly volunteers, who will be able to chat with you and others who choose to attend.
All are welcome to attend our allium cafes any number of times – we are always here to support you.
