Visions and values

Here at Winchester Hospice, we provide specialist palliative and end of life care to adults with life-limiting illness.

At the heart of the community, we’re here to ensure those who require care and support receive it at the right time, in the right place. We go further than patient care, as we’re here to support families, friends, and carers during this time, and beyond.

Who we are

Our team is what makes Winchester Hospice special. The hospice team, together with our palliative care team, community nurses and a dedicated team of volunteers, have one clear goal — to bring peace, comfort, and dignity to every patient they care for.

Whether it’s using their expert knowledge of pain management and symptom control, their experience of caring for very unwell people, supporting family members or simply providing a hand to hold in the middle of the night – they are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide care, and support.

We pride ourselves in being able to provide care in a comfortable environment that enhances well-being and privacy.

How we’re run

Winchester Hospice is run and managed by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT). We are also supported by the Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity who work to support and raise funds to ensure our hospice care can continue for decades to come.

HHFT’s vision and objectives are underpinned by their CARE values, which are embraced by Winchester Hospice. These are:

Compassion, caring about our patients, their families, staff, supporters, and volunteers.

Accountable and responsible, always improving.

Respect for all.

Encouraging and challenging each other to always do our best.
