Visitor information

If you are visiting our hospice, we ask that you follow the guidelines listed here whilst you are with us.

Whilst Covid-19 restrictions are in place, please click here for the latest Covid-19 guidance and speak to the team before visiting.

When the reception is closed, please use the intercom at the main reception door and the hospice staff will open the door for you.  Make your way through the door into the main reception area and then turn left and report to the inpatient nurses’ station. Please be aware that staff may be busy with patients and may not respond straight away to the intercom. We appreciate your patience.

Staff

You will know the name of the nurse who is responsible for your or your loved one’s care each day. The senior nurses will be your point of contact for any questions you have or information you want.

Your named nurse will change as staff go on and off duty but you will be informed of this change and the information will be displayed.

Parking

The hospice has its own private car park which is barrier controlled.  Please press the button to gain entry.  Please bear in mind that these are not allocated spaces and therefore not everyone may be able to park here.

Accessibility

  • There are disabled parking spaces outside the main entrance.

  • Accessible toilets are throughout the Hospice.

  • There is a lift to the ward.

If you have any other special access needs, please tell our staff who will be very happy to assist you.

Infection control

Our patients can easily catch infections. Please help to avoid this by using the hand gel provided at the entrance to the hospice and located on the walls around the hospice.

Here at the hospice, we have Covid-19 restrictions in place - please view our latest update by clicking here. As we are an acute medical facility, these may be more stringent or more restrictive than those that apply in the general population.

Smoking

The hospital, hospice and its grounds are a non-smoking environment.

If you have any questions about visiting, please speak to the clinical matron or any member of the senior nursing team.

Who can visit?

Visitors to the hospice can include babies, children and even pets. We do not impose any age restrictions although please ensure children are supervised at all times. If you would like to bring a pet, please notify a member of our staff first.

Please bear in mind that too many visitors or visits for prolonged amounts of time, may exhaust your loved ones. Sometimes, we may have to limit the number of visitors for clinical reasons.
