The Big Conversation

It’s time to talk about later life…

Secure housing, care, community…. These things in later life don’t just happen by themselves. They need a big family conversation – preferably over a delicious three course meal.

The Big Conversation is a chance for families to sit down together, share food and talk openly about the future – about health, care, money and what matters in later life.

By talking now you can make sure everyone feels heard, supported and confident about what’s ahead: planning well, caring wisely and sharing responsibility together. And because it’s about understanding each others’ wishes and values and not just those of older family members, that makes it a Big Conversation for everyone, no matter what our age.

Which means there’s a lot on the menu and much to digest. So why don’t we gather round the table and discuss what needs to be said?

How to get started

To help, as part of Legacy Action Week, we’ve produced a set of cards to help you navigate the conversation. Questions are tailored to each course, giving you the opportunity to ease in over a starter and discuss the more meaty topics over a main course.

All you need to do is download the cards and decide what to serve up for dinner.
