Pre-loved fashion sale returns this month for Winchester Hospice

On Tuesday 14th March, a four-day pre-loved clothing sale will open to the general public in support of Winchester’s only adult hospice, Winchester Hospice.

The pop-up sale will be held at the Country Pantry in St Catherine’s Restaurant, inside the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th March.

Bargain hunters will be able to find and purchase second hand womenswear, menswear and childrenswear as well as bags, shoes and accessories from 10am to 4pm each day.

Whilst shopping, visitors will be able to find out more about the hospice charity and the work they do, including opportunities to volunteer and upcoming events.

All funds raised from the sale will support Winchester Hospice to continue providing specialist palliative and end of life care to those with life-limiting illness in and around Winchester.

The hospice charity, as well as holding pre-loved sales, hosts six clothing recycling banks across the city and surrounding areas, including at the University of Winchester, Cheriton recreation grounds and Alresford Rugby Club. In 2022, these banks helped to raise over £2,500 for Winchester Hospice.

Each year, the Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity needs to raise thousands of pounds to support the ongoing costs of the hospice’s services.

Nick Vaughan, chairman of the Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity says: “It’s fantastic that we are able to bring this event back for 2023 and encourage more eco-friendly shopping whilst raising much-needed funds for the hospice.

“Winchester Hospice is an invaluable and wonderful facility for our community and we are so grateful for all of the support we continue to receive from the local people.”

Last year Winchester Hospice ran two pre-loved sales over a total of five days, together raising over £2,000.
