Help us care for patients this Christmas
As Christmas draws near, many of us look forward to gathering with loved ones, sharing laughter, retelling stories, and simply being together. But for some local families, this Christmas will be spent at Winchester Hospice, where our dedicated team will be bringing comfort, compassion and specialist care to those who need it most.
Since opening our doors four years ago, Winchester Hospice has never closed; open 365 days a year, including Christmas Day. While others gather around their tables at home, our nurses, doctors and volunteers will be here and out across the community, ensuring that every patient and their loved ones are cared for with dignity, comfort and kindness.
We do everything we can to make sure our patients are where they most want to be at Christmas. Whether that’s at home surrounded by family, or here at the hospice where our care can bring peace and reassurance. Wherever they are, our teams will be there too, caring with compassion throughout the festive period.
Providing this round-the-clock care costs Winchester Hospice £7,500 every single day, even Christmas Day. This Christmas, we’re inviting our community to come together to help us fund the care we’ll be providing both in the hospice and in patients’ homes as part of our Christmas appeal.
Your support will help ensure that local people receive the care they need, surrounded by those they love, even on the most precious day of the year.
This Christmas, our teams will be working throughout the festive period to ensure care continues for those who need it. If you can, please help us to provide the important care local people need this Christmas by donating to our Christmas appeal.
If you’d like to support our teams and help them care for our patients this Christmas, you can make your donation via the button below. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference to the care we can give.
On behalf of everyone at Winchester Hospice, thank you for helping us care for those who need us most, not just at Christmas, but every single day of the year.
With warmest wishes,
Donna Coombs, Matron
