You’ll love Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity’s Pre-loved boutique
DEDICATED followers of fashion can grab a bargain and support Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity when a new shop pops up in Winchester Fashion Week.
The charity, which is seeking to raise at least £500,000 towards the running costs of Winchester Hospice over the next financial year, is setting up shop in the King Alfred Pub, in Saxon Road, Winchester.
The Pre-loved pop-up boutique will be open for business from 10am-3pm from Monday, April 4, through to Thursday, April 7. Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity Ambassadors will be manning the marquee at the back of the pub and they are looking forward to selling a host of fabulous items.
Nick Vaughan, chair of Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity, said: “Thank you to The King Alfred pub for allowing us to set up our pop-up Pre-loved shop, and we are grateful to our wonderful ambassadors who will be manning it.
“Every pound raised from the sale of items in our pop-up shop will help the fabulous palliative and end of life care teams to deliver their outstanding support for patients and loved ones in Winchester hospice and the local community.”
The hospice, in the grounds of the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, in Winchester, is run by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT), which operates hospitals in Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover.
The hospice opened last September following the success of a £4.4 million fundraising campaign that transformed the former Burrell House nurses’ home into a 10-bed hospice.
Lara Alloway, chief medical officer at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and a trustee of Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity, said: "The hospice is already playing an invaluable role within the local community.
“We know how important hospice care is for those people needing palliative and end-of-life care, as well as their friends and family. We are proud to be able to support our patients by providing a new and modern hospice.”
