Remember loved ones at Light Up A Life service
WE NEVER forget loved ones we have lost – and in the run-up to this Christmas, Winchester Hospice will be giving supporters a chance to celebrate the memory of family and friends at a special Light Up A Life service.
The COVID-19 pandemic may have brought a halt to many public events, but Winchester Hospice have teamed up with All Saints’ Church, in Highcliffe, Winchester, to create an online event on Sunday, December 6 from 4pm to 5pm.
Vicar Mike Griffiths will be leading the service, which will be streamed live on YouTube, and will give people the chance to post dedications to loved ones.
Mike said: “I am looking forward to partnering with the Winchester Hospice team on this special Light Up A Life event.
“We may not be able to be together in person, but this service will help to bring people together for a service of remembrance and celebration.”
Nick Vaughan, chair of the Winchester Hospice fundraising charity, said: “Thank you to Mike for working with us to put on this special service. We are pleased that we have still been able to find a way for this important Light Up A Life event to take place.”
The service will feature readings by special guests and also some seasonal singing. Any donations given during the Light Up A Life event will be divided between Winchester Hospice and All Saints’.
You need to register for the Light Up A Life event by going to https://winchesterhospice.com/events/2019/12/1/light-up-a-life-bzel8 and that is where you can also make a dedication. The deadline to get your dedications in is midday on Friday, December 4.
