Virtual Allium Meadow will bloom with tributes and thank-yous
IT’S a special virtual memorial platform that will bloom with flowers, thank-you messages and celebration of life tributes – welcome to the Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity Allium Meadow.
The Allium Meadow, which has been launched on winchesterhospice.com, provides somewhere for people to make a donation and leave a message in memory of a loved one or a thank-you message for the care that has been provided by the team at the hospice, which is operated by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).
Winchester Hospice opened last September following the success of a £4.4million community-backed fundraising campaign which saw Burrell House transformed into a 10-bed inpatient hospice. Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity (WHFC) is now raising at least £500,000 each year towards the cost of delivering the enhanced palliative and end of life care and support for patients and their loved ones.
The Allium Meadow is one of the ways that the charity team are raising these vital funds, but as important is providing families and supporters with a platform to leave celebration of life messages and thank-yous.
Nick Vaughan, chair of WHFC, said: “We are delighted to launch The Allium Meadow on our website. An allium will appear in the meadow once a donation is made, and people have a choice of how much they wish to donate.
“Thank you to everyone who makes a donation and leaves a tribute or thank-you message. Every pound raised will go towards ensuring the wonderful HHFT team can keep delivering outstanding care and support for patients and their loved ones.”
