#TeamWinchesterHospice Camino Trek 2026

Embark on an exciting adventure along the Camino de Santiago, where every step supports our hospice's mission of care and compassion!

saturday 12 september - saturday 19 september 2026

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime experience as we explore the eighth and final section of the French Way, the most traditional and best known of all the pilgrims’ ways to Santiago de Compostela all in support of Winchester Hospice. During the five-day walk we will traverse the hilly landscapes of Galicia, passing numerous points of cultural and historical interest along the way.

The Camino Trek

The terrain will vary throughout the five days but in general you will trek all day along country roads, compact dirt and stone footpaths, forest tracks, gravel trails, paved streets and through woods and meadows with some uphill/downhill paths. Each day you will experience undulating terrain, so it is important that your training includes hill walking and trekking up and down gradients!

The trip will be operated by Different Travel, a tour operator that specialises in overseas charity challenges and adventure holidays! More detailed information including FAQs on transport, medical information, climate and more can be found in our information brochure available below or via our trip provider’s website linked here.

Meet the Team

Justine

Justine was the first to sign up to the trek as it's a challenge she's wanted to do for many years.

She said: “I once watched a movie called ‘The Way’ which was based around the Camino and, ever since, I’ve felt inspired to do it. I also want to inspire my daughter and show her that we can do anything we put our minds to.”

Justine also has another reason for taking part. “I have the privilege of working at the hospice and can see how fundraising is put to such good use. I know just how much the support means and I’m pleased to do my little bit to help.”
